Assessment: All courses shall be examined during the academic year in which they are studied. The examinations shall consist of continuous assessment of written assignments, tests, demonstrations, projects and written examination at the end of each part based on percentage guides. Continuous assessment of written assignments shall account for 30% of which 50% will be for supervised tests and 50% for the written assignments, while the end of year written examination shall account for 70%.

Entrance qualifications:
- Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) or equivalent, with passes in five approved subjects, obtained prior to the sitting of the Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (ACSEE) or equivalent

And one of the following combinations of passes in Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (ACSEE):
- Two principal level passes in appropriate subjects at the same sitting, or
- Two principal level passes in appropriate subjects not at the same sitting (provided they are both of grade D or higher), or
- An appropriate equivalent Diploma/Certificate of not less than Second Class, Credit level and approved by the Senate of The Open University of Tanzania

And two Principal Level passes in appropriate Science subjects.
